Used scopes on Ebay
« on: August 04, 2007, 01:35:26 PM »
Has anybody ever had good luck with buying used scopes on Ebay. I found one that I think is a good deal but just little skittish about buying it. Everything sounds good in the description and looks good in the pictures. Just wondering if anyone else has done it before.

I bought a couple of the older 2x7 redfield widefields that were made in usa on ebay. They are my favorite scope,so went for it.After using them for 5 years no problems, just be sure and check out the sellers feedback, and remember you are buying at your own risk pretty much.

If it is a good quality scope, factory service or equivalent is available, price is right, and you are comfortable with the seller's integrity, I would do it.  I have sent a few scopes in for factory servicing (for other people) and they came back like new.  If you can save some $$ that way, I think it is fine.  There are occasionally such good bargains available when models change, etc.; however,  sometimes it's hard to reconcile buying used.  I guess you just have to judge each case on its own merits.

I've bought two Burris Fullfield scopes, a Bushnell Trophy red dot sight and a Bushnell Elite 3200 over the internet and was satisfied with all.  I wouldn't be afraid to buy more if I needed them.
