Boy it's a beauty. I'll let someone else try it first though. That is a pretty stiff price tag. The Ruger#1 is darn nice itself and a little cheaper. I am always leery of new designs. I know how much work it takes to get a Handi to shoot right. CZ is known for their quality control though.

Brno has been making O/U rifles and shotguns and combis Shotgun/rifle for
a long time. They have a reputation of ruggedness and dependabillity.

Turning this system into a single shot should be no problem. If they were available here I would not hesitate to buy one. The stock with that big drop
is the only thing I don't like, but that can be fixed easy enough.

A 7x65R would be a nice caliber or a 308Win. The weight is under 7lbs
without a scope. Yes the Ruger#1 is a fine rifle for the price not as light.

The break open system like the Handi is light and very nice to manipulate.
Though the Brno is of much better quality and has a single set trigger.

If you add a single set trigger and a speed lock hammer to the Ruger#1 you are looking at an extra $300.

Not a bad looking rifle except for that humpbacked stock. A couple of NEF's cured my break action rifle cravings. Any new rifles for me will have bolt or be a Ruger #1. The #1, to me, is the best looking rifle built today. I only have one, a 22-250, but there is an empty space next to it my safe. Maybe my better half will do something about it for CHRISTmas.

That's odd, my first H&R tip up single only whetted my appetite for more. I hear some have gotten Handi Rifles with less than stellar quality control but almost all of mine have been fine hunting and shooting tools. For those of us within the borders of the USA (sorry Fred) their Customer Service department is 5+ star. For the price they simply cannot be beat....<><....:) 

here is a post today by a "newbie" with no axe to grind about H&R's....and this is not uncommon, although there are naysayers out there...

Just shot my 204 at the range today. 100 yd.- .494 in. 200 yd.- .973 in. Unreal for a $229 rifle with a $119 BSA scope and HSM factory 33gr. Calhoon ammo. The only thing I did to it was rtv bed the forearm and paint the stock camo."

I know what you are saying, I have two Handi's and if I had been able to sell them I would have non. Instead I spend a bundle of money and multy hours of
work to turn them into custom top notch shooters. With the money I spend I could have bought two fine #1's. Most of the money went into rebore and rechambering jobs from 223 to 6x47 and 257 Roberts.

The new classy looks and shapes are a pleasure to shoot and handle. These two rifles are different from a #1 Ruger of which I have four. So I love both
the Handi's and the Rugers. The two Handi's are very accurate and shoot under a 1/2" with three shots the 6x47 (222Rem Mag case) is a true varmint rifle grouping
at 3/8. Perhaps you saw my Ruger pics here are the two Handi's. Both guns have
24" octagon barrels.

Fred, I saw the pictures of your rifles and they are fine looking guns. I spent a lot of time tinkering with mine and a lot of time and money driving back and forth to the shooting range which is about a 50 mile round trip. I decided I didn't want to spend any more time or money on them .I traded them back to the dealer I bought them from and got most of my back and am happy with what I traded for.

Fred those are fine looking Handis and you did great work on them, they also seem to shoot pretty darn good. How about posting those pictures in the thread "Single Shot Rifle Pictures" in this forum, I am sure there are others that would like to see them and the fine work you did..Thanks....<><....:)
