Lyman Great Plains Rifle

Hey guys what's up? Does anyone know if anyone makes a drop in barrel for a GPR with a fast twist such as a 1:28. I know lyman makes a 1:32 but i am looking for something faster to stabilize sabots. Thanx John :grin:

What type of sabot are you talking about, the 1/32 seems to stablize a power point real well.

John,
I have a 1:48 twist on my .50 cal.Traditions and use sabots with good results.  I think Lyman is trying to come up with a comprimise twist for conicals and sabots.  Not to worry!

The GM I.B.S. with just a little work will fit the Lyman GP rifles.
  It's a simple matter to remove the single underlug and reposition one or both underlugs for the Lyman,you must also cut back the under rail and it is best to redrill and tap for another small screw to hold the rail.

Track of the Wolf can do it for you. Best guess 100$ worth of smithin or $40 worth of tools,time and patience.

Why do you need a fast twist????

A round ball work just fine with game up too deer size out too 100yrds.??

What would a 1 in 28 offer that a 1 in 32 twist couldn't do?
