Water in gas
« on: August 11, 2007, 03:16:18 PM »
Well was going to take the kids riding on the wheeler today and it started acting up. Put new a new plug in and still acted like it was. So I found I had water in the gas. I drained all the gas and am going to let it sit all night so it can get tried out. My question is should I put some kind of gas treatment in when I fill back up with gas and if so what would be the best to use?

                                                                    THANKS

I think some dry gas wouldnt hurt. Maybe use some starting fluid to get it to start.

Drygas will help.  Be sure to drain the carb, too.  It will be full of water.  I treat all of my gas with Sta-bil and dry gas in the correct proportions.  I take no chances.

Just dry gas and fill it up to the rim.  I had a Suzuki outboard gum up after 1 year with Stabil and I used it per the containers recommendation +some.  Stabil and the others are not needed and often will not give you any benefit. Seafoam will clean out the combustion chamber but the water did that.  Drain the carb at the bowl and then run it.  Save your money and buy more gas.

Thanks guys. I drained all the gas and water out and let it dry. Filled it up with fresh gas and got it to fire up. Ran rough for a few seconds and then run like it is was brand new. Drove it for about a mile so I hope everything is ok now.
