front sight removal on pardner protector
« on: July 23, 2007, 07:52:18 AM »
just bought a hi-viz spark II front sight for my pardner protector.  my question is;  what size are the threads on the factory bead?  the kit came with 5 different adapters:  6-48,5-40,3-56,3mmx.5,3mmx.6.  will any of these fit my gun?  it is not a vent rib just a bead.

also, what is the best way of removing the old front bead.  i'm not concerned about damaging the old bead but do not want to strip the threads.  thanks

Jake, all of the beads i have messed with on NEF's were 3-56 thread. if your not worried about ruining the bead itself , grab the bead with a small pair of pliers and unthread it.
it should not be thread locked and sometimes not even threaded on that tight.  it should just unthread and the hi-viz, of the right thread, just thread right in.
use some ( very little ) thread locker blue if your worried about it staying secure.
