Brady Bunch to stage protest on August 28th - Here's an idea
« on: August 17, 2007, 05:45:44 PM »
Despite the fact that people are responsible for crimes, and that violent crime rates across the country have dropped since the mid-90s, the Brady Bunch still sees fit to progress the good guns / bad guns hypothesis:

So Jesse Jackson is still using Dr. King's ghost to promote his agenda du Jour. This year, it is "the guns made us to it." For those of you who strongly believe that the 2nd Amendment means what it says, that guns are inanimate objects, and that people should be held accountable for their own actions, there's a little something we can do as a counter-protest. This was proposed by Mr. Codrea, over at the War on Guns blog.

The idea is simple: On August 28th, or thereabouts, we go out and patronize our local gun shops, and perhaps those that own gun shops may also want to participate by advertising this. Not everyone can up and buy a firearm, so the suggestion is to at least buy some ammo or loading supplies that you were otherwise going to buy at some other point.

It may get attention, or it may be a flop; it depends on your participation. I realize that the Brady Bunch do not have real jobs, so they can do this nonsense on a workday, but I'm going to make a special effort myself, even though I'm all stocked up on reloading supplies.

Thanks!
