.480 ruger @1050fps

I've got a 10" 480ruger barrel on my encore. It's purpose is to shoot 350g WFN hardcasts @1050fps. Looks like IMR trailboss and     Hodgdon tightgroup just miss my mark for a sub sonic tack driving load. Has anybody tried Unique or W231 in this instance? I want a minimum of 900-1000fps.

You get much over 1,000 fps and you'll no longer be sub-sonic.  I've shot 9.0 grains of Unique in a .475 with 350 grain bullets for 930 fps and pretty good accuracy.

just curious : was the trailboss not accurate enough ? seems it is no problem going really slow with it. From reading on it, etc.

Not to be argumentative, but why are you looking for the extra velocity?  A 350 grain LFN traveling at 930 fps will penetrate 31" of wet newsprint.  My 825 fps 400 grain load is accurate enough to shoot 20 ounce Coke bottles at 100 yards.  I wouldn't believe you would have problems with either performance ot trajectory. Just curious.

I like the speed of kill when using WFN's @ DV's of 100-125.

10 grains of unique or 11 grains of herco ought to get you there.
