S & K scope mount for a Krag

i'm looking at getting one of these " no gunsmith " mount to put on my Norwegian Krag.i've seen it done by a friend and it worked. it looks like there is a band goin around the receiver ring. does this require modifiying the stock? if it does i'll forget about it and stick to peeps instead(it's already drilled and tapped for the willaims sight)

Kevin:  I believe the stock requires minor relief on the inside to allow the 'fit' of the band.  I don't think it would take any more stock work than that, and thsoe bands aren't all that thick.  You could probably repair any inside stock reliefs with bonding material.  HTH.  Mikey.

Can't speak for the krag but my yugo mauser has S&K mounts than needed no inletting.Just remove rear sight and put mount in...very simple.
