ADL, BDL, CDL ?????
« on: August 14, 2007, 07:11:42 AM »
Not real familiar with Rem rifles. What is the difference between the ADL, BDL, CDL rifles? Looking at possibly buying a .22-250 ADL synthetic.

It was just their way of naming their models. The ADL was the "cheaper" model,it has actually been replaced with the SPS (Special Purpose Synthetic), it had a plain stock with no floor plate. The BDL was a little nicer with nicer wood on the wood stocks and had a floor plate. The CDL is very nice, very nice wood usually with an ebony tip on the stock, deep rich bluing and just a nicer looking rifle.I believe (somebody correct me if I am wrong) but the actions and barrels are all the same, just different bluing on them.Nice thing is,that if you buy the ADl you can swap and switch stocks and all between the nicer models.Hope this helps.

If you're going for a light weight rifle, but don't want to downsize to a Remington Model Seven, the ADL is the lightest, since it uses the wood of the belly of the stock as the floorplate in its "blind" magazine.  The downside is that unloading is done via cranking them out through the top.

I don't recall what models detachable magazines are available in.

The DM is the drop magazine model, and as long as you dont interfere with the triger guards and the followers the barreled actions are interchangable between the ADL/BDL/CDL  HTH  JIM

In addition, the recent BDLs I recall seeing all had a high gloss finish to the stock and white line spacers.  I think most came with iron sights as well.  The recent CDLs all had a less shiny finish and no white line spacers.  Personally, I liked the look of the CDLs.

If you look hard, you can still find a few ADL's in walnut.........I have had mine for years, but I could not ask for a better shooter...I love mine chambered in a 270........look around , I saw a laminated 270 in a Wal Mart in Sikeston Missouri
