How Many Snakes?
« on: October 12, 2007, 09:20:30 AM »
I have an argument to settle at work.  How many "snakes" did Colt Make?  Not all the variations of each but each individual snake name. I think I know.  Thanks, BT53

Good question, I don't think I know all of them.
Cobra, Diamondback, Python, Anaconda, Boa, King Cobra, wasn't there a Viper for a short time? I think there's a few others but I can't think of them right now.

I counted the King Cobra and the Cobra as the same.  Those six are all I can find.  I am getting old and I do gun shows all the time but I don't ever recall seeing a Boa or Viper.  Thanks, BT

I  hate any kind of snake, but I sure do like my Old Python. ;D ;D ;D
To your question about a Viper. The Viper Model in .38spl was made in 1977 only. ( alloy frame ).
The Boa was in 357 Mag.  Mfg. 600 of each in 4" & 6" guns . The entire production was bought up by Lew Horton Distributing Co. around 1985.

They mated a King Cobra with a Python and came up with a . . . Grizzly? (Huh?) How did that happen? Love mine anyway.

I think the Cobra and King Cobra were different frames.
