I recently bought a 99 in 22 hi-power. 24" bbl, straight stock, no checkering, plastic shotgun butt, raised ramp w bead front sight, takedown, sn# 149xxx. What flavor 99 is this?

Sounds like a 99F, does the buttplate have the savage logo?

It would be a 99F the 1899F's were saddle ring carbines. Your rifle is a little confusing to me in that the SN# puts it as being made in 1913-14, I thought the 99F came out latter.Check with the guys at the savage forum at the 24hour campfire they will know for sure and can tell you a lot more than I can.
