180g load for 30 06
« on: August 25, 2007, 11:35:31 AM »
Can anyone recomend a good load for the 180g? Thanks. I have some IMR 4064 on hand but am thinking of buying some W760 to duplicate their factory loads which my handi really likes!

I'm sure there are good recipes for either powder but my preference is for IMR 4350 in the 54-55 gr range. I believe this is square in the middle of several load manuals - but check to make sure.  I have had excellent results with this load and several different brands of 180 gr bullets including Hornady, Speer and Nosler Partition.

I like IMR 4381 too but I can't recall powder weight.

I've had good loads using IMR 4064 AND 4350,also H4831.I never got around to trying the ww760 with 180s but it should do good.I have one 06 that likes ww760 and 165gr Hornadys.
