Older 110

I just bought a Savage 110 30/06. It is marked 110E series H with a serial # A2278xx. Can anyone tell me when it was built. It was an impulse buy but it cleaned up very nicely.

From the Blue Book, the 110E was manufactured from 1963-1988.  Unfortunately, there is no reference to the series or SN.  Perhaps a call to Savage may provide additional info.

Tunaman, my 110E 30-06 is the most accurate rifle I own. It likes Hornady 150 gr spire points over IMR 3031 powder,a load that came with my Lee Loader. 3 shots from the bench at 100 yards can consistently be covered by a dime.
