Mountain Rifle in .308

Was the 700 Mountain Rifle ever offered in .308?  Thanks.

Kinda,it was offered in the Mountain Guide series that were special runs done for Cabela's and Gander Mountain. They are the same action and contour barrel,but dont have the laminated stock. They both came in the synthetic stock from the Titanium rifles. Here is mine, it is the Cabela's version which is blued.I painted the stock and applied the Black Webbing.

The Rem. Mountain Rifles were offered in 308 back in the late 80's or early 90's. We have one in Camp. The barrel was cut from 22" to 18". Kind of like a Classy Model 7.

Thanks, as of right now I am very happy with the way it shoots. I just went out yesterday and shot my handloads at 200 yards and could cover 3 shots with a quarter.I am loading 150gr barnes MRX's. Just have to slow myself down between shots because the barrel heats up so fast,if I wait 2 or 3 minutes between shots everything is fine.

Their was also a special run of the Light Varmit SF made in .243, 7mm-08, and .308.  I have the 7mm-08 version which weighs 7lb 12oz with a VXII 4X12.  Mine has a 24" barrell.
