How about the new Remington Rolling Blocks ?
« on: August 13, 2007, 05:57:10 PM »
Did not know you could order from Remingtons custom shop a new Rolling Block ! No.1 mid-range sporter msrp= 2,665.00 $ , Silhouette model msrp 3,065.00 $
How is the quality ? I read one review and it stated the rifle is a piece of crap. I don't know about that,I take reviews with a grain of salt. Their getting a good price for
them but I guess your getting a real Rolling Block. Would you just spend less money and buy the Pedersoli,or spend about the same or a little more and get a Sharps
from Shiloh ? How is the quality comparison ? I have know problems with the Italians firearms I have bought their Trap shotguns for years and excellent quality. And of course the Shilohs are outstanding.

I've seen a few of the supposed "Remington" RB's @ the SHOT Shows & one or two in real life. I wasn't impressed. Wood to metal fit was lacking & the lines of the stock looked too modern. One model was even marketed w/ a modern folding barrel sight.

Remington will not say where the actions comes from or who builds it. @ the SHOT Shows, rumor has been that  the action is from Pedersoli.

I have a Lone Star RB .45-2.1" & its is top drawer. I've also seen a few other Lone Stars & quality is the same. Right now, I’m contemplating a side-lever configuration in either .40-65 WCF or .40-82 Crossno.

If you want a RB, go w/ a Lone Star.  I doubt if you would be disappointed. Lone Star comes the closest to the original RB's. You'll get a great deal more rifle for the money.
