Howdy from Bama
« on: August 19, 2007, 11:49:31 AM »
No, I didn't blow myself up!  ;D  I'm back.

I got a nice e-mail from Double D the other day, but that account was closed and I couldn't respond. So, let me say here--Thanks for the e-mail!

I've been away because I had financial difficulty this summer and have been selling stuff and looking for a extra job. Preachers at country congregations don't make too much. Thankfully, the cannon survived, because, what would I do with all that powder? Good excuse, right? And, I have a second job and paid some bills with money from selling guns and stuff, so things are looking up. I read Dave Ramsey's book for the 4th time and am working on climbing out of my hole. I have been almost completely out of debt 2 times using his methods, but gave up. Third times the charm. I don't like being broke.

Sorry to spill my guts on here. I just wanted to let you know why I dropped off the planet. I got an extra job as a Sears salesman in Lawn and Garden/Hardware doing 25-30 hours. It should make a difference if I don't spend my paycheck on Craftsman tools!

I'll stop in from time to time and hopefully get to shoot the cannon soon.

PoB,

I was wondering where you had gone. Glad to see you are back. Sorry to hear about your financial difficulties. Keep being strong and don't loose the faith. You will be back on your feet in no time.

Tony -
More than just ONE of us have been there and done that!  It just means YOU'RE NORMAL!

Getting out of debt is GOOD.  Get 'er done!

Keeping the cannon is also GOOD.

Staying in your chosen vocation is also GOOD, especially if you can figure how to finance it.  As we get older, we get better at that!

Don't be a stranger!  May God bless you richly as you touch others' lives!

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm glad I can keep the cannon and keep blasting them at church, too! (Did I say that out loud? Just kidding.)
