CVA Optima Elite

I was also looking at the elite. My question is, can you put a rifle barrel on this frame or do you have to buy the rifle frame and then add barrels like the NEF?

So it has to be the Optima Elite and not just the Optima?

The Optima Elite uses a centerfire capable frame which is made much stronger to handle centerfire rifle cartridge pressures, the Optima is only a muzzleloader, they aren't the same, an Elite barrel won't fit on an Optima and vice versa.

Thanks Quick. Almost bought a Optima 209 because on their website it says that interchangeable barrels are available.

I think the muzzleloader shotgun barrel is the only option that the Optima or Optima Pro offers.

There are 3 options for the Optima 209 and the Optima Pro 209 - 50 cal. muzzleloader, .45 cal. muzzleloader, 12 gauge muzzleloader.

But, like Quick said....the Optima 209 and Optima Pro 209 systems are completely different from the Optima Elite system.   Seems like they should've given the centerfire/muzzleloader setups a different name.   ::)

Thanks for the reply J.PLATE. I have already bought a OE .243 about 2-3 weeks ago. Posted in New Owner, thanks to GBO thread.

I love this gun. I would highly recommend this gun to anyone. Very well built and very accurate. Lite enough for my son and daughter but at the same time its heavy enough that it don't kick to much.

I have been looking at them thinking when the income taxes thing is done.  maybe a 22-250 and 50 cal.

Wished I would have bought the combo but at the time money was tight. But I will have the 50 cal barrel this Feb. So it worked out in the end.
