Encore std muzzleloader barrel vs prohunter
« on: September 15, 2007, 02:35:18 AM »
Hi everyone, I currently have a standard encore in 308 26" barrel, which I love.  I am now thinking of getting a muzzle loader barrel for it.  My question is are there any accuracy  advantages to the pro hunter barrel?  I know it has the speed breach and  2" longer barrel.    The pro hunter barrel is quite a bite my $ then the standard barrel and to be honest having the speed breach is a non issue to me.  I know from reading post here a some of you guys have both.  So any info  you can supply would be great.

thanks

If the speed breach is not an issue, the standard Encore M/L barrel will work well. I have both and they are every bit as accurate as each other.

I have the pro-hunter and I got it because I wanted the Speed Breech, and that was the main reason for me getting it.  In retrospect, it's not that really a big of a deal when you are hunting.  Mine came with the tool to remove the plug and and the EZ-Tip extractor.  I don't know what the Standard Barrel comes with.

FYI, the barrel doesn't come with a forend, you need to buy a Muzzle Loader forend. Best price I found for both was Midsouth Shooters Supply.
