Backstrap :  Sorry for the delay in responding, but yes I do use that ammo in my winchester 270 short mag. when using it, I have taken several hogs and I believe 3 deer with that particular rifle/ammo combo, the animals were dead and laying where they were standing when I shot except for one hog and he went about 30 yds.  JIM

I used some 150 grainers in a .308 to take a muley in MT and an antelope in WY.   They were about 200 yards and both were complete pass thrus.   The bullet went thru both shoulders of the deer and he did a nose dive.  The antelope was a lung shot and he took about six steps before falling over.   The downside is the black coating on the bullet is hard to clean from the barrel.  I had to use some J&B bore paste to make the barrel shine like it did previously.  One hunting buddy won't use them because he doesn't like to spend that much time cleaning.   I probably won't buy more after I get these shot up as I reload most of my ammo.

James that black coating is a molly coat. Just do your Basic cleaning like you normally would, removing the copper fouling (if any) and powder fouling. That molly will actually help the performance in most barrels.

As far as the performance question goes...I have used them in ,308,30.06, and .270 all with the same results. Dead deer.
You want a divorce if I go hunting today??? Well sorry ta see ya go...Was nice knowin ya..Dont let tha door hit ya where tha good lord split ya :D
