yeah its not the most pretty gun but it should be accurate. i don't know yet they sold it before i could buy it

I am not trying to start a fight, just wondering: why would you assume that it is accurate?  I have known a few guys with Ruger .44s and all of them were so so when it came to accuracy.

Ruger makes a darn good gun. I don't know about the accuracy of their lever actions but do know a few guys that have purchased Mini-14's and are disappointed with the accuracy.

keith my great uncle had one for a while untill his death. i shot his before and it was accurate enough for what i need.

Everyone has their own standards.  6-8 inch groups at 100 yards don't make it for me.  My Marlins do substantially better, so that is what I will continue to recommend.

his was shooting 2inches at 100yards. you also have got to consider that you are shooting a big bullet with very little powder. just wondering how accurate are your marlins?

MOA or less.  If you have a .44 cal Ruger that shoots a two inch group you better hang on to it.

unfortunately i didn't get it, thats why i am going to get another and mount a nikon buckmasters or leupold vx1 on it. i will make it a 2 inch or less gun though

Hi 30-06,

I have one.  I also have many Marlins.  I was going to buy a new one since they are still listed in Ruger's catalog.  Unfortunately, none of the dealers here in Houston can get one or know of anyone that has one to ship.  I bought a used one on an auction and I am pleased with it.  It is very light and handy and just feels better in my hands than a Marlin.  I guess it comes from the balance.  I have only shot it a few times but I can see it has the potential to be accurate.  It came with a cheap, but clear Tasco scope.  Some of these Tascos are good and some not so good.  I've tried most brands.  I shot about 2-1/2" at 100 yards with mixed ammo.  There is no doubt in my mind it will do better than that but I don't really expect more than 2" to 1-1/2" at that range.  My handloads and experimentation with different bullet weights will improve the groups.  This is about the outside range I would use it for game anyway.  If you want one, get it.  Get a Marlin too.  Both are good.
