« on: September 05, 2007, 11:46:27 AM »
Can't seem to find the "search" button.

I recall seeing some home made brass cleaner, maybe some vinegar, lemon juice, soap mixture. does anyone have the recipe? Thanks, TVC15

Rice in a tumbler is all you need.

I do not have the formula.  :(

The search is a Google bar located in the upper left hand corner of your screen. You can check GBO or the entire Web  ;)

I do believe that the formula was...
6oz De-Solv-It (this is a citric cleaning solution)
And
1 can Bonami

Ya mix it all together and use 2-3tsp per batch in the tumbler.
-------
I dont do this though...
Some corncob media and a few capfulls of the Dillon Rapid Polish 290 (No Ammonia) works very well

I use walnut you can buy at any pet store or feed mill in a 50lb bag real cheap and treat it with liquid car wax. Works great and is cheap!

I've been tumbling with rice for six or seven years and am quiet happy with the results.  Not only is it cheap, but you can ask mama to pick some up when she goes to the grocery store.  As far as making the brass shiny, an old mess sergeant's trick is to put Kool-Aid in the serving line overnight.  Makes the copper pipes shine like a new penny by the morning.
