CVA ram rod
« on: September 03, 2007, 05:36:04 PM »
Fellas, now I know that your going to tell me to call CVA, but.  I have a CVA Optima and love it.  Ordered on for my 14 year old son and when it came in, it seems to have a metal ram rod. Is this what it is, the one on my other Optima seems to be fiberglass.  Not to sure about the metal ram rod on the crown. Your thoughts please. Also, what is the purpose of the threaded end on the rod that goes through the end of the breach plug remover socket. Thanks!!
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

It is a aluminum rod that I have...and the only thing I can think of for the threaded end on the T-handle is for is some type of knob for easier handling Yup...give them a call and see what they say..

The threaded end is for a different jag if you so choose. My Optima came with metal rod. Have to be careful not to bend the son of a gun. I have since replaced it with graphite.
