Taurus PT 111 Millenium ?
« on: December 28, 2008, 12:57:17 PM »
Do any of you have a Taurus PT 111 Millenium? I am thinking it would be a good choice for a concealed carry gun. I would love to hear opinions on this model.

Thanks

I've had a PT111 for a couple of years and it's ok. I traded in a PT140 for it, which I could not hit well with. Just a personal thing, I don't care for the .40 and don't shoot well with it.  The PT-111, on the other hand, is much better for me. I like the 9mm and with the right ammo, it'll do the job, if the shooter does his/hers. One thing, though, do notshoot +P ammo in the PT series. They won't handle it. I accidently got hold of some +p+ 9mm and screwed up the slide stop. Had to send it back to Taurus, but they fixed it with no problem. My intention was to ccw mine, but actually carry the one of my smaller autos more. This is due to my current dress code. Jeans and a jacket, it's the PT-111, usually. The PT-111 now takes turns with a revolver for truck gun duty.

I do like mine, and it shoots more accurately than I can. I get about a 4-6" group, rapid fire, out to about 20", which is plenty for SD shooting. Slow, aimed fire and my group tightens to about 2-3". An aquaintance of mine can do way better with the same gun, so it'll shoot as well as you do.
The first 50 or so rounds, I had two or three fail to feeds, but none since in about 300-400 rounds.

Personally, for the money, I don't think you can beat a Taurus and the PT-111 fits my hand well.
