Camo Laminated Stock - refinishing
« on: September 13, 2007, 11:18:56 AM »
I have a stock that has some nicks/gouges/scratches and was wondering if I can just sand them out and apply a clearcoat finish.  Or, is there some staining required to obtain the coloring?  Has anyone worked on their camo lam stocks?

Baja

I don't have any of the H&R lams at the moment to look, but take the recoil pad off.  If the laminate is solid (all one color), you can sand it down and then reapply the clear coat.  If it is not solid, it won't work that easily.  Keep in mind, you will have to sand the entire thing, not just a piece. of it.
