RTV bedding works!!
« on: September 12, 2007, 04:02:59 PM »
took the new .22-250 to the range again today with the new bedding in place. last time i shot it i couldnt keep the groups under 3 inches if my life depended on it. this time i was pleasantly surprised when it averaged 1.25 inches for 10 groups fired. i gotta say, this stuff works, this is the second rifle i have tried it on and both times it shrank group sizes considerably. now all i gotta do is tune m y handloads a bit and really get her shooting good. thanks for all the great advice.

Just get one of those Simms Barrel Rubber Thingys!!!! ;D

I did an RTV job on my 223 also.  Might redo it one of these days.  I only ended up with about 1/16" thickness.  Mine didn't start as bad as yours, but I am at 1.25" groups also.

There's a link in the FAQs, here's a short cut, it's the best that I know of. ;)
