223 super light youth

What is the good word on the super lights? My daughter is going to be deer hunting this fall and I am looking in to getting her one in 223rem. I know its not the best deer round but its about all she can handle shes only 9 and kind of small. The shots will only be about 60 yards tops and shes a really good shot been shooting for about 3 years with a 22 rimfire and shoots to 50 yards all the time.

The 223 Superlight isn't as finicky as the 243, so you should be happy. They have a 1:12" twist, at least until H&R runs out of the current stock of em, so I'd keep your bullet selection to 60gr or lighter with a few exceptions, one being the 64gr Win PP which shoots good in most that have tried em.

Thanks Tim. I want to try the 60gr. Nosler partition or the 64gr. power point. I am keeping her range to 60 yards I don't want her to have a bad experience ever but especially on her first year out.

Save yourself a lot of frustration and forget about the Super Light Handi.
Buy the girl a 200 Stevens in 223 cut the stock to suit they shoot right out of the box. Any halve baked ammo will do the trick.

Non of this trying this and that ammo etc etc. with the superlight Handi. If
there ever was a tinkering gun that got to be it.

I recently bought a 200 Stevens 7mm-08 for a joung boy, a son of a friend
I know for sure I made the right choice. I made some super light loads,
first try they shot five shots into one hole at 25 yards and no kick with a 120gr
bullet.

Kids got to have confidence builders from the very start.

I've never heard of a handi that wouldn't hit a deer at 60yds.
Besides it can learn to shoot the same time as her.
