Finally!!!
« on: September 14, 2007, 04:39:44 PM »
In about 8 hours, I'll be sitting in my tree stand in Kansas looking for a big Kansas buck!!!  Black powder opens tomorrow. Suppose to be in the 50's in the am, but near 90 the rest of the week. Don't understand why Kansas has such an early season, always so hot, but I'm happy the deer season has started.........from now until January, blackpowder, crossbow and pistol/rifle..............my favorite time of the year!

Ours opened here in Connecticut today as well.... I got up @ 4 to heavy rain. ... wussed out and went back to bed.  :-[ ::) Weather here is still a bit warm as well. 60 degrees and history shows little deer movement in warm weather rain. Now if we where in early November and got rain instead of snow.... you couldn't keep me out of the woods!!!

I love the early bow season, but figure I have a couple months worth of time, I don't really need to get soaked the first day out.

Got there about 45 minutes before shooting time, as I was walking in dark to my stand, heard the famous "blow" and sound of deer crashing through the woods. That was it this am, started raining..............will hit it again around 4pm.........

There are some monster bucks around here, unfortunately, when I see them, they're 300 yards away running like mad!
