I done good....
« on: March 10, 2007, 01:55:55 PM »
Dang I am still on a high from this...... a buddy told me about a 1895G in 45-70 that was at another SportingGoodsStore in town marked at $399.00 on consignment.  Well I ran over there and they still had it, I well was really hoping that it wasn't consigned.....

The tag said pre-owned and it was at $399.00 and looked like it just came out of the box.  I don't think it had been hardly shot neither.....

Well I hung onto it with a vice grip cuz aint no one gettin this away from me.... so I ask the sales guy.. when did this come in, he said, yesterday the guy traded it for a TC Contender.

Well I put $50.00 down on her.......  It looks identical to this one below and the serial number starts with 99xxxxxx

Very nice, and a great price too.  Is it ported?

Good deal, I have one that is stainless steel and love it. I would not get a ported one. Way to much noise. Good luck with your new toy.  ;D

I picked up a 1895 Cowboy a couple a weeks back.  It is SWEEEEET.  It is also a pussycat to shoot with factory loads.

Good job!  My boss let me borrow his .45-70 Guide Gun and I installed him a ghost ring sight on it.  Shot it about 50 times and bought a long barrel .45-70 for me.  This is really one of the most versatile calibers made but most people don't realize it.  Even if you don't handload, there is a great variety of plinking to elephant power loads out there from custom loaders.  Have fun with your new one.  BT53

That's an awesome buy.  My local Gander Mountain just raised their price from $550 to $650 on that same rifle brand new, so I think you got one heck of a deal!

That's a nice lokng rifle.  Nice work.

I swapped a Trapper 44 mag for an 1895GS.  Only got it to the range once but really liked it.  It's gonna be a fun rifle.  Can't wait to load for it.
