CW...

I see your trying to make sense with Swampy...Good Luck...Others besides myself have tried...but to no avail...Your arguments, explanations, and truthfulness will do no good...and only lead to exasperation and out right hostility in dealing with him...so I will save you a whole bunch of frustration/time/hard feelings and say this to you..." Don't bother and save your breath " He loves to give out 1 liners and sit back & watch the show...

I will take slight umbrage at 1 thing you said...and IMHO...rightfully so...Arguably on par with a VXI...This is laughable at best...and while I understand you wanting to show yourself as an individual who can see both sides of an argument...while all the while...thinking it might do some good with him ...believe me when I say...it is falling on deaf ears for 1...and secondly...it really doesn't reflect the true differences between the scopes...The 3200's don't compare to them...and (again) IMHO... don't even compare to the Rifleman series in clarity..flare..eye box largeness..eye relief..or a half dozen other ways as well...Sorry...while they look good on paper...to me...they look like crap thru the lens...I've looked thru a bunch of scopes these past 30 days...from many different stores...I haven't seen a 3200 yet that I would own...The only bad thing I can say about the Leupold's are their price...There is other glass that is very good...very clear...very bright...for less...but I don't know about their C/S department...and that is one of Leupold's strong suits...I've heard Nikon's is pretty good too...just heard though...since I haven't had to utilize it yet...If they are as good...then Leupold will have it's hands full...especially with the new Monarch line hitting the shelves now...

Mac,
Thank you. I THOUGHT this may be the case. (I Rmember past forays with others.) You did hit the nail on the head, with my throwing the VXI under the bus. ;) The way I see things in a disagreement, you have to give a little to get a little...at least with most people.

I DID make an accomplishment though..... At first the 3200 was better than ANY Leupold.....then the very next post, it was only better than a VXI. ;D ;D ;D ::)

 Swampman,
SHAME SHAME! ;)  Its all good, I enjoyed the banter. :)

"It also carries over to ANYONE who owns the scope and that's forever. Bushnell wont do that."

They do on the Elite Series.

Having spent a lot of time looking through both, and talking to some of the country's top shooters that feel the same way I do, I doubt I'll ever buy another Leupold.  Even the European glass isn't as good as the Bushnell Elite series and the Banner Series is better than the most anything you can find.  Like I said I bought only Leupold for 30 years and then one day I looked through a new Bushnell.

The Leupolds are nice looking nostalgic glass.  I just wish they weren't so dark.

Bushnell's Elite warranty is lifetime only for the original purchaser, just like the rest of their scope warranties, the Elite series does have a 1yr no questions asked replacement policy, but again, only for the original purchaser.

Why?  It didn't seem to help.

Leupold used to make a nice product.

I have a Bushnell 3200 on my Rem 7600  35whelen and I can tell the sight picture looking thru the scope is great, lots of view and lots of light.  I was really surprised by the quality of the the one I bought.  I was looking for a Leupold and my gun dealer talked me into getting a  3x9 3200 elite, he said I would be happy and he was right.  Now I am looking for another scope for my .375 Winchester and I think maybe it will be a 2x7 Elite 3200 if they make one.  I have 2x7 Leupolds on two other rifles and they are great but not perfect.

That's an excellent scope and an excellent price.
