How about Sept 10th?  That way we can get in our pix of the latest golf-ball competition.

Get the pix in guys (and gals)!

Let's make the decision making for DD tough!

Sounds good September10 is the deadline.

If you want your picture considered for the calender get it posted inthe Calandar post.  Only pictures posted there will be considered.

The cover will be a collage of the all pictures submitted.  I am going to post all the pictures into a poll.  You will get 12 choices in the poll.  The 12 pictures with the highest totals will be the 12 months.  Highest total getting to be January. Number 12 will Be December.

The calendar will be available at the GBO Gear store.

The Calendar post is now closed.  I have copied all the pictures.  There were 79 of them.  The pictures had to be of a cannon.  So if the picture wasn't a cannon, I didn't copy it.  There were also acouple of pictures that were just to blurry to be used and i didn't coy them either.

El Cazador had the most pictures and he could make more than three calendars with just the pictures he posted.

I will have to up load the pictures to my phot host and then hopefully I will post the poll and you can choose your 12 most favorite.

I will also have to make the collage of all the pictures.  That will be the cover.

Keep your eyes open for the poll

Actually I use MyHosted Picture a lot.  For quick and easy photo hosting  for posting pictures here on the internet you couldn't ask for a simpler system.

I have had my commercial photo hosting site since 2001.  I have 2901 pictures stored on it for a total of 457.88 MB. A  lot of those pictures are here on GBO.  It is not as user friendly as MYHosted pictures.

I had 96 pictures to up load last night and MyHosted pictures only lets me upload three at a time and is slow uploading.  My Commercial photo hosting site let me upload all 96 at once.  In fact I selected the 96 last night and went to bed while they uploaded.

On the other hand if I need to upload one or two pictures quck and post them on the board, it's quicker and simpler  to use MyHosted pictues.  On the commercial site I  to log in, select the album I want to open, then select the method for upload I want to use, then select the pictures to up load. it takes longer to get to that stage on my commercial site.

Now on the other side once the pictures are loaded MYHosted has the linkage all pre posted.  All I have to do to post a picture here is copy and paste the link from MyHosted pictures.  In my Commercial photo hosting sight I have to generate a link to each photo each time I want to use the picture. A much slower process than MyHosted pictures.

I'm not about to give up my commercial site and I am not going to give up MyHosted  pictures either, I use both.  You guys looking to post pictures here and on other boards would do well by opening up a free MyHosted picture account.  Yes my HostedPicture will work on other forums.

What??  Just when you were beginning to look really distinguished?  Like a former Surgeon General of the United States. ;D ;D

Tim, this photo, composed and shot by your wife, came out quite a bit better than the other one of the same group in the New River Valley thread which, I believe, we forgot to submit.  It would be nice to put a GBO cannoneer group and a cannon up for a vote if it is at all possible.  The last post by DD indicated that the Calendar post was not closed, so if it is possible to ZAP one of the two pics of our cannon and substitute this more significant photo, then please do it.  If it is technically too difficult to do this, then don't.  We are not asking for the addition of a photo, just substitution.

Thank you DD and C. Everett!

Well here is your  SAMPLE BALLOT  From this list you will select 12.  I suggest you look things over and get some idea which 12 you might want to pick.  You might also go back to at the original for a better look at teh pictures.  You will also notice that not all the pictures are listed there were several duplicates and couple that had quality issues.

The Poll will run for 14 days.  At the end of 14 days I will send an email to the top 12 vote getters asking them me to send a copy of the picture they submitted formatted 11 x 8 ½ inches.  If I don’t get a response from someone in a weeks time I will go down the list and notify the next highest vote getter to send a picture.  I will continue this process until I have 12 pictures that fit the format.  These runners up who are asked step up will only get a couple of days to send me a picture and I will move on. So, if you are a runner up it might be wise to get your picture set up and ready to before I ask.

It’s going to take some time to put the calendar together and we want it out before New Years.  The goal is to get it out by December 1.  Wish me luck.

There still is one other unknown. As you can see there 86 possible choices.  We still are unsure if the GBO Software will allow us to give 86 options.  Graybeard thinks there is a limit but is unsure how many. If I  run into problems I will get back to you and let you know how I resolved the issue.

Matt says nope can't be done as a poll so will need to do it another way. Perhaps off this thread where folks just write in their selections as the previous poster did. BTW my vote is for:

1, 7, 13, 17, 29, 30, 33, 35, 69, 75, 83, 84

I got an Idea how to do this.  I am going to sleep on this and see if I like teh ide in the morning.

Don one of criteria for posting a picture for consideration for the calendar was this

Post the picture here on the  board in the usual format  576 pix wide at 72 ppi.  Save the picture on your computer at a higher resolution and larger size---best full size as it come out of the camera.  Then if your picture is selected I will have you send me your high resolution  picture for  posting in the calendar.

If you posted a picture in the post to be considered for the calendar and you do not have the picture saved in the higher resolution and larger size tell me now so I can remove your picture.   The picture for the calender must be 8 1/2 by 11.

I already know that some of these pictures are at very low resolution now and if this is the only copy of the  picture you have, it won't work.  If you don't have the picture saved in the higher resolution and larger size and you don't tell me now you are wasting my time and everyone elses time by leaving it up.
