Gunsmith recommendations?
« on: September 17, 2007, 05:46:22 AM »
Can anyone please recommend gunsmiths in the SE Michigan area? Please only refer gunsmiths that you have had GOOD personal experience with. I need rebarreling work done on Mauser and Remington bolt rifles, and bluing on same. If they are amateur gunsmiths, that is OK, as long as they are competent.

Try Williams Gunsmithng Gun sight.  I think they are in your area.  http://www.williamsgunsight.com/
Pay attention to smithing.  I have had good experience through the mail.
I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

Might want to check into Steve Durren at Johnson's Sporting Goods
                                                           3654 N. Adrian Hwy
                                                           Adrian, MI 49921
                                                           517-265-2545

Might also be known as W. Johnson Service Inc.
I have not personally had any work done by him, but have heard others speak highly of him.  My local sporting goods store sends work to him from the other side of the state.  i knew Steve years ago in high school and he was always a straight shooter.
