Reloading for Nagant M 44 7.62X54
« on: September 20, 2007, 09:47:05 AM »
I think it would be easier to just reload for the nagants and whatever else that uses 7.62 X54? instead of having to tediously clean that old and corrosive ammo. Lee dies are real cheap and sellier and bellot has ammo in 7.62 x54 boxer primed thats cheaper than the lapua brand brass alone. I heard that some people pull old ammo and reuse the powder as its the primers that are corrosive  but i read of a warning somewhere that its not a good idea to pull and use old and unknown powder. Do they reuse the cases if so arent they berdan primed?

you can reuse the cases as long as they are brass. personally i just buy winchester brass when available or buy the winchester metric load and either pull the bullets or use them as target fodder. my rifle prefers teh winchester brass to all others i have tried.
