« on: October 02, 2007, 09:58:50 AM »
The Barrel is a G2 Muzzle Loader Barrel 209X45
I would like to Remove the Pin that is a top of the Lug (curiosity)what I'd really like to know is is it made from the same block of Metal or is it PRESSED in
If any of you have a slick way of removing it please Speak up
Also If this has been brought up before and I am asking a Question that has been asked a million time please give me a link and I'll ask for this Post to be deleted
Below is a picture of the Pin I speak of

Looks like a dowel pin. First I would grab it with vise grips and gently try and turn it to see how tight it is. If it turns fairly easy you should be able to back it out.

I wouldn't try to twist it until I determined whether or not that roll pin is going through it. Put a kink in that roll pin and everything is locked up. If you do try to twist it,  be sure to pad it so that whatever you grip it with won't mar it.  Pat

Heating the pin will not make it easy to remove. Metals expand when heated.

A small die grinder and five minutes will remove all of it that means anything. The rest will be forever forgotten.

You are doing this why ?

As you probably already know it is there to keep it from being mounted on an original TC frame...for a reason I assume.

The roll pin holds the lugs in.
