wish i had a bull tag
« on: October 07, 2007, 02:18:19 PM »
well this evening i severly wished i had a bull tag.  was sitting in a cut over, and herd a big snap up in the bush, waited for a bit but never herd nothin else, then herd alot of snapping and crunching, and i new this was now squirrell LOL, finally saw him walking through the bush about a 100 yds away, so i thought i would play with him a little bit, gave him a quick cow call which stopped him and turned him around, and he walked out into the skid trail he just crossed, gave him another call and he started walking towards me, he came for a while then stopped behind some trees, so i gave another call, and he carried on hiw way towards me, he finally walked out in front of about 50 yds out, so i snapped a couple pictures, poor lighting conditions so they didnt turn out real well.  also took a quick video of him, which killed the batteries in my camera, qwhich was a piss off, because he stood there about 30 yds away from me broadside looking right at me.  now i thought, ok i guess i should scare him off, so i stood up and started talking at him, he just stood there and looked at me, so i told him how lucky he was that i didnt have a tag, then i yelled at him, then i started waving my gun at him, he still stood there and stared at me LOL, finally he walked away, i kept giving him grunts, which he would stop turn around and look at me, then carry on.  after he got about a 100 yds away he stopped up in the bush and started grunting, which was a way diferent sound then what i expected, and it was real loud and aggresive sounding, so immitated his sound, and he grunted at me 3 times, then decided i sounded like the bigger bull i guess and high tailed it out of the area.

it was such a amazing experience, wish the pics hadve turned out a bit better.  not a big bull by any means, i would say about a 3 year old.  then after i left i found some fresh bear tracks on the trail, in a spot i shouldve bin able to see, probably walked by while i was playin with the bull LOL

heres the pics...
