A very nice bombard!

I am relatively new to cannons and bombards seem to me a lot like mortars (large bore diameter, short barrel). What are the differences?

What are the differences?

There are three basic types of artillery piece--cannons (long barrels, horizontal trajectory); howitzers (mid-length barrels, elevated trajectories); mortars (short barrels, very elevated trajectories.)  A bombard most resembles a howitzer.
