I have seen where some pard on Manatee's BP post on the wire would elimimate handicapped shooters from CAS. I have problems with Arthritis in my hands. I can shoot any rifle or shotgun but continual use of .44-45 revolvers is quite painful. I shoot 24 gr loads in C&B .44 revolvers without much difficulty. Since I have this problem, I use .32-20 main match guns for smokeless powder. I do NOT shoot mouse pharts. My 115 grain bullets are traveling at 950 fps from my revolvers. They knock down reactive targets and they are a classic caliber. I have seen .38 shooters use loads that will not knock down our falling plates. A .22rf will knock down our plates with a center hit. These pards are not handicapped in any way but are trying to lighten the recoil for an advantage in speed.

I don't think any pard that can be safe with his or her equipment should be eliminated from CAS. That would be a black mark on our sport.

You know what pard, if it were up to me I would have exemptions for those that can not function one way or another like the majority do and for the majority that the rules were made up. Unfortunately, nothing is up to me, but if you were on my posse, you can bet I would back you up as to being required to download a bit. Just like juniors, I feel CAS can accomodate handicapped folks too. I have shot with pards that were so handicapped that they had to ride a cart and the posse would stage their guns for them. I had as much fun as them at being able to drive the cart from the loading table to the unloading table and to see them shoot the course and have fun. Fun, that is what it is all about. There is too much emphasis on competition, although it really is a competition, since there is a timer. Fun is what you get out of it. I'd posse with you any day. :-)
