what do you prefer 14" or 10"? what kinnda groups you shootin? :sniper:

10", mines not a match but it will shoot 3/8 50yd groups on a calm day. KN

I have three T/C .22 barrels. A 10 & 14 inch with open sights and another 14 in. scoped. I shoot metallic silhouette and all three barrels have the match chamber. All will shoot under 1.5 inches at 100 yds with the right ammo. I'm sure you already know that the ammo makes all the difference in the world. I started out using a 14 inch non-match chamber with Winchester Super-X ammo and my scores showed it. Traded it off for a match chamber barrel and I bought 15 different brands of ammo. I mounted a Burris 10X scope on it and started testing the ammo and went with the Eley Target Rifle. I shoot the Eley in both 14 inch barrels and Federal Traget in the 10 inch. The 10 inch barrel didn'y like the Eley.

I have a 14" bull barrel match chamber and I have put 5 shots under 1" at 100 yards several times (when the wind would cooporate). It is the most accurate barrel (and pistol) that I own. I have the full Volquartzen trigger kit installed and use a Burris 4 X 12 PA scope in order to help these groups along. The squirrels don't have a prayer.

I have mixed feelings on this. I currently have a 10" with a match chamber and just bought it from Ed before they were no longer available. My best group size at 50 yards is 5 shots touching, whatever that measures out to. It will shot these groups with RWS High Velocity or CCI Mini Mags.

Reason I say I have mixed feelings is because I bought a 10" because I like the lighter weight in the 22lr. I plan to use it for squirrels which I think the ligher weight from rests in the woods will be better. However, if shooting from a bench, it is not near as steady as my 14" HMR barrel. That 17 barrel just sits there rock steady. However they both shoot similiar groups, so maybe the difference is not as much as it seems. Overall I think the 10" is better for me. The 14" would not be that much ligher than my 14" 17 HMR and that thing is a beast to hold and shoot offhand.

One other note to this lenghty post, I had a 10" 22lr years ago that was not a match chamber. Unless that was just by chance not a good barrel, the match chamber will shoot circles around it anyday.
