Remington ultra core lokt 12ga slugs
« on: August 04, 2007, 11:08:56 AM »

Has anybody used the Remington ultra core lokt slugs out of fully rifled Remington barrels? What kind of accuracy did you get.
      Thanks Herb

I have used them in my Rem 870 and my H&R Ultra slug gun both 12ga.  Accuracy was very good 1.5" group at 100 yds. They pack a pretty good kick but they are accurate :)

I get 2.5" groups out of my 870 with cantilever barrel. The only other load as good is the Fed 3" Barnes Expander. I have dismal results with any of the Winchester slugs.

I have since traded my 870 for a BPS with Bushnell 4200 2.5-10X. After sighting in, the first slugs I tested were the Rem. Core-Lokt. 4 shots were in 1 ragged hole measuring 1" at 100 yds with the 5th a called flyer about 2 " away. I then adjusted my scope to hit 2.5 " high at 100 yds- the next 3 shots were a 1.4" group( I shot these fairly quickly). Bottom line- the are the best groups I have ever seen or fired out of a shotgun.
