Only that they were manufactured by Activ Industries. They were an all platic hull,no brass. I think they quit making them around the early 90's.
They were made in USA , in kearneysville w.va.
They were a foster type slug.
 Thanks.

I could only find the following:
ACTIV Industries, Inc.  1000 Zigor Road  PO Box 339  Kearneysville, WV 25430
The phone number was out of service.

Gooser were you shooting them out of a rifled or smooth bore?

Dougk, I was shooting them from a rifled barrel. an 835 mossberg. They were the best shooting slugs I ever shot through this gun. I just wish I could find some more. The last ones I bought were in 1996 from Gander Mountain. I think they went out of business in 96 or 97. Never found them again. :(

I have several boxes of Active 1oz slugs. Their performance was exceptional. Out of my Ithaca Model 51 accuracy at 75 yards was as good as Federal 1 oz at 50 yards.BUT there was a huge problem with this slug I could not resolve. They would lay down a layer of plastic in the bore, after a couple of shots, that would hinder accuracy to groups of 10 inches or more. The plastic was very difficult to remove. If your gun shoots Actives well try the Federal 1 oz and keep shots 50 yards or under. If you live in Massachusetts send me a message and I will sell you what I have if all the Gestapo licenses are in order.

muzzymike,  I called that store and was told those are 3" 1 1/4 oz. I have never shot those before because  i used the 2 3/4" . we didn't have the 3" available to us then. I dont know how they would shoot compared to the 2 3/4".
does anyone know the answer to this?  ???

Wish I could help you, but I don't have any information.
Your story resonated with me though, because when Mossberg first came out (20 - 25 years ago?)with the cantilevered rifled barrels for the model 500's, I experimented with every slug I could find and those Activs were the best or near the best of the lot.
