All of the above. I just love to be in the woods.

In Illinois
Bow: Matthews legacy
Handgun: Magna port customized srh in 44 mag.
Shotgun: Remingtron 11-87 12 guage, laminated thumbhole with cantilever rifled barrel

In Wisconsin
Rifle: Marlin lever action 30-30 in wooded areas, remington 7400 in 30-06 for open areas.

I didn't see shotgun on the list.  Since I use shotgun slugs for deer (no rifle state for deer) and it has a rifled barrel and is centerfire, I chose rifle.

I am also getting into bow hunting for deer.

I voted whatever, because bow hunting  deer,requires the use of a bow. Goose hunting I use a shotgun,deer either shotgun or rifle......so...you get the idea. I wouldn't want to have to choose only one weapon.  :-\

I agree with gooser and rural, I use them all, but I prefer my rifles because I enjoy distance shooting.  But, my favorite has quickly become a short range weapon.  My NEF Handi rifle .357 mag, backed up by my 6.5 inch .357 Blackhawk.  Where ever I go on our farm, they're usually close at hand, on the horse or in the truck.

Rifle is favored, but out of necessity sometimes a pistol.  Depending on time of year and location as to which caliber I carry.  May through October .338 or something comparable.  November through April 30-06, .223.  But if I'm going to be above treeline and the shot might be over 500 yards I carry a Weatherby .338/378 any time of the year.

well when its bow season i use a buckmaster g2  then when muzzeloader season i use a nef huntsman barrel on my sb2 frame then when rifle season starts i usually use my win model 70 made in 1952 caliber in 270 likes 130 rem corelokt ammo topped with a leupold vx2 3x9x50 i usually hunt with what gets me the best odds.

I haven't had it out on a hunt yet buy my .54 flinter is already my favorite to shoot, and I'm sure it will take more than it's fair share of game this year.  Between my new Marlin in .35 Rem and my new Ruger Blackhawk in .44, I think my '06 will be sitting this year out.

My favorite is my H&R sidekick 50 caliber muzzleloader.  I have othe rmuzleloaders I use and rarely use a centerifre for deer season. I start with early muzzleloading then regular rifle, which I can also use my muzzleloader during.  I have harverted more deer with muzzleloader than anything else. It gives me a more satisfying feeling to do so with one shot. Oh when I carry a rifle it is a single shot, which right now is my encore in 7-08.

Sorry but I can not nor will not pick a favorite weapon! All my weapons are favorites, from the .44mag model 29 to the Fred Bear Recurve, not to mention my hunting collection of model 70 Winchesters with pre-64 actions. Also got a couple of wildcats amoung the group too! My favorite is to go hunting by what means is not important to this hunter. I put the same effort into the job hunting squirrels as I do hunting quail or African game with my .416 mag or .470-Capstick. ;)   ::)

Bubba........I have nothing against those muzzle loaders of traditional days! I do have a couple of .50 cal Hawkins and a .54 as well. Not to mention a couple of Kentucky long guns in .45 & .50 cal.

I personally don't care a hoot about those inline muzzle loaders that have rifle scopes on top and can shoot 3 times the range of a traditional smoke pole.

Regardless of how much fun any of the others might be, when it comes down to getting serious it is the Rem 760 carbine in 30-06. I can't think of any circumstance where it would be inadequate for me.

Yup, if I have to be serious about the hunt, which I never am any more, it would have to be the o6.  But being I can just go have fun now days it is the bow first, then the 7-30 handgun, then the encore 260.

Depending on the critter and condition I can go from 17HMR to 45-70 and most caliers are doubled.
For most game.
But I really like bird hunting be it Ducks with Dad or upland with my friends.

Love my longbow, heck I love about any bow. The bows are for hunting, the guns are more about making meat. I do enjoy eating though!

I have a t/c renegade .56 smooth bore. lots of fun to load with shot for squirrel and rabbit hunting. I have also loaded it with a patched round ball and it shoots 4-5 inch 50 yard groups, but I have never had the chance to shoot a deer with it yet.
