I've been shooting one of these for years and in all that time have only seen one other.

Does anyone else have one?

I picked up a very early one from a pawn shop a few years ago for $165. It is a real beater visually but is as tight, smooth, crisp and accurate a SA as I have ever owned or fiddled with. It is quite evident that it once was a very finely finished piece. Now it is just a fine shooter.

I bought one new way back when. A 44 mag satin chrome. It shot well but the trigger proved to be a bit fragile. Traded it off the my brother in-law, he still has it and has had few problems with it.

Finally a post that doesn't include your website.  Annoying.

The sight www.singleactions.com is not Seville's  web sight.  It belongs to Lee Martin.  It has some pretty good articles on it about all different type of guns.

If you have knowledge you wish to share then share it on the thread you post to. Don't try sending folks elsewhere with every post you make. It's poor net manners and considered spamming.

I owned one for a spell ~ loved it. It was much like a super blackhawk, affordable and tight. I accidentally broke the ejector housing screw and returned it to the factory for replacement. It came back w/a different designed hammer/transfer bar which was ok w/me but when they silver soldered the replacement 'button' they burned the end of the barrel. The bore had slag/scale that couldn't be removed. The refinished area around the muzzle had heave wavy buffing marks. Broke my heart ~ traded it off. I understand the modification was due to copyright infringement w/ruger settlement.

Me thinks it was also sold under the Mossberg brand?

Thank you wickerbill.

Again Greybeard I apologize. I had no idea that was spamming. I am old but not so computer literate. Only wanted to spread the word about the guns. I also emailed people from that sight your posts to see if any of them wanted to come here to learn.

I will stop advertising the sight here in my posts and will not tell anyone about the great posts here.

Apologetically,

John

Had you read the rules you'd have found that you can put a link to any site that has content that is acceptable here on any/all of your posts that contribute to the discussion. You may NOT however suggest or tell folks overtly to go there. Just drop the link and let it go at that. To do more requires prior approval which most times IF asked for in advance in accordance with the rules is granted. It is NEVER granted after the fact.

If you are going to other sites posting and suggesting folks come here then you are spamming them and that's wrong as well. Again there you likely can just add a hot link but not suggest or ask folks to come here and you'd likely be OK with their rules but then I don't know what the rules are elsewhere I only know what they are here.

I set a standard of practice of how I think sites like this should be run and strictly enforce it here and do not ever suggest to anyone that they violate the rules I have here on other sites to attract folks here. I believe the way I have my rules is how it should be done both here and elsewhere but make no attempt to alter how others run their sites.

So if you want to add a hot link either in your signature line or at the bottom of your post that when clicked will take folks there that is within my rules and you'll get no flak. If you suggest or tell them to go there you will get flack. You'll see many members here with hot links in their signature line or that they add at the bottom of all their posts. That's within my rules.

Making a post JUST to hawk another site is never acceptable and I think that likely applies on most all sites so if that's what you are saying to did to get folks here on some other forum that was WRONG also.

Many members have links that actually ask folks to go to a site they have a link to. That's because they asked in advance and go permission. I'm fair but FIRM in the application of the GBO Terms of Use aka THE RULES.

If a question is asked directly by a member such as "where can I find into on....." then you are free to say that data can be found at XXX site and drop in the link. My rules are to keep the discussion forums clean as discussion and not as spam or just a place to tell folks where to go. Good rules lead to good order on a site.

Thanks for your reply, Graybeard.
I have looked for these links and as I am not really sure what a hot link is could you post a sample for me ? I am done letting people know about the site, as you have made it understandable to me about your rules  but want to make sure I am not infringing in any way.

Thank You,

John

Yup as long as you do it like that you'll get no flap from me. That's doing it within the rules. And if you were to decide you wanted to add a link to this site somewhere else as you mentioned I'd expect it to be no different than that either. Most all site owners allow that but not many appreciate overt attempts to draw folks and especially not if that's all the post has in it. Simple net equitte.

Boxhead you have to keep in mind that these forums for us are just fun but there business for the owners. Money exchanges hands from advertising and it cost money to pay for this computer space. This is somewhat of a job for Bill and if someone is constantly trying to pull people away and the amount of people participating here goes down so do his advertisers. Plus how would he ever pay me the 100 grand a year he pays me to moderate this fourm. By the way Bill i still havent even gotten payed for the first year!!!!!
