.35 Whelen or .45-70 for Alaska

Which of these two would be better for Alaska?  I want to hunt caribou, moose, and both black and grizzly/brown.

They will both do a good just at closer ranges but the whelen is far more versatile for all around hunting.  There really isnt' much the whelen can't handle up here from 300+ yard moose/carabou hunting with 200-225s and 250-275 for closer range work for big bears.

I see a lot of older gentlemen coming up here with .35 Whelens.  It is good for Moose, Caribou, and Bears, with less recoil than the .338WM.  Range is good out to 250yds, with good energy retention out to that range also.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
