Who produces the most accurate and reliable conversion unit for converting from 9mm to 40 caliber for the SIG 226?  Thanks, JHT

Try there folks.  If I remember correctly, you will also have to change the magazine too.  I bought mine with the 9mm, .357 Sig and .40 barrels, and have diffrent magizines for the 9 mm, and the .357 Sig/.40.

I think you are going to find that going up from 9mm is a no go. Going down from .40 however is doable, .357 Sig is a simple factory barrel swap mags will interchange. Going to 9mm will entail a conversion barrel from aftermarket source, try Barsto, and will need new mags as well and maybe a little hand fitting of barrel.

You'll need a complete upper to go from 9mm to .40 S&W with your 226. The 9mm breachface is too small to accept the .40 case head.

Thanks for the solid information, I did not think about which direction I was thinking about converting barrel systems from and to.  Sometime back I went from 40 caliber to 357 SIG with no difficulty with my Sig 229, but I went from larger to smaller caliber.  Again, thanks.  JHT

The .40 S&W shares the same case as the .357 Sig, so no problem there. Just a barrel change is all that's required.
