« on: October 04, 2007, 01:06:42 PM »
Just bought a NEF 280rem. I bought some Hornady139gr.sst custom ammo. They shot horrible... I know I am gonna need to try something else but, was wondering if anyone could tell me what an acurate round would be to try in this rifle..

Welcome to the forum! If that's the Light Mag Hornady ammo, it doesn't have the best track record, some like it, most don't. Rem 140 or 150gr Core-lokts are one of the good ones to try, and usually priced right, many shoot the Win Supreme 140gr Ballistic Silvertips. Another inexpensive one to try(if there is such a thing anymore!) is the Federal Fusion and Power Shok ammo.

I think you would have to rate the Winchester Super X, power point right up there with the Remington Core-lokts.

Always had good luck with those Winchester Super X.
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.
