Pellets

I was just wondering if any one used #11's to fire pyro, or other pellets. If any one has had good or bad results using #11's and pellets, please feel free to respond.

I used to shoot  pyrodex pellets when they  first came out.  I was shooting a Knight BK-92 with #11 caps. Never had a problem lighting them off.

I used pellets for a long time, I have switched 2 years ago to triple7 powder and never have regreted the switch. But I had great results when I used a 25ACP with a small rifle primer to ignite the pellets.

I have used #11 caps in my Renegade to ignite pyrodex pellets without a problem.  But there again I have switched to powder only.

I use pellets just for the simplicity, probably could work up a little more accuracy if I experimented but it shoots pretty well with 2 triple 7 pellets, and also I converted my encore to 25 acp after recomendations on this site by redhawk and others and have been very happy with the results. Sorry don't know anything about the caps.

I don't use pellets much.  I prefer 3F GOEX for it's accuracy.

The new Winchester Triple Seven 209 Primers are so much better that previous offerings, I see no need for other ignition systems.

I have used the Pyrodex pellets (2 x 50 grain) with the 435 grain White Shooting Star Sabots in my White G-Series Whitetail with #11 caps. They lit the Pyrodex pellets fine, and I had awesome accuracy with the above load. I doubt that they would be reliable with 777 Pellets, but I never tried either.

The Pyrodex Pellets have a layer of real Black Powder bonded to one end to aid in ignition, 777 pellets don't.

I never tried more than two pellets, even though my .504 White is rated for 150 grains of loose powder.

For hunting I would have to use the 209's to be sure of ignition in cold wet weather. I tried the #11 caps in my Renegade and they worked, but also had some misfires, so why take the chance on not getting a deer....
