difficulty to find blr older magazines for 7 mag...
« on: October 09, 2007, 05:20:00 PM »
Is it a factor that it is getting difficult and costly to find magazines for a 7 mag blr older model (the ones that stick out from the bottom of the reciever ).. are there no after market ones available.. I do not want to be unable to find mags for it and for that to get tougher all the time... I am new to the browning clips, as I never had one before... lots of shotguns, a couple of hi power pistols that is all
thks for your insights... I am sort of in the middle of talking about a buy and am getting a bit of cold feet about the mags for now and the future..

dk, I do not believe Browning chambered any of their older style guns in 7mm. That caliber requires a longer action. The 7mm should use the newer flat bottom mags. Try www.gunbroker.com for a source for Browning blr mags. Regards Byron

dk: Magazines for the post 1980 models are the same as the current, new, models and thus are not difficult to find - just a little pricey.  The ones that are difficult to find are the ones for the pre 1981 models, which are slimmer and deeper.

thanks for correcting that for me I was letting that cool my considerations of the weapon.. now I am a bit concerned that a little lighter caliber would be more handy for whitetaile deer in La.
