Got the Range Finder today
« on: September 20, 2007, 02:04:26 PM »
Bought a Bushnell Sport 450. This thing is pretty neat. It has the rain mode built in so rain or snow should not bother it and its fast so I doubt I will miss scan any. Some places that advertise these range finders are misleading it says deer out to 200 yards a tree 450 and a reflective target out to 800 in the manual yet other sources say out to 450 for a soft target (deer ) and out to 999 for a reflective one. (Building, Rock, Tree ect. Most of my Rangeing will be under 200 yards anyway so it does not matter. Raining tonite so I cannot give it much of a trial run but I can see lots of uses for this.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Give it a good workout and let us know how it works in the field.

Well I am really satisfied with this unit it works great. Some of the more expensive ones I suppose have more features and can range a deer farther but for what I need this fits the bill just fine. The manual says it will range a deer at 200 yards Trees at 450 and high reflective tarets out to 800. (Building I suppose) Where I rifle hunt 200 yards would be a long shot (Most are around 50 ) and for archery purposes which is why I bought it it works really good.

Have you had a chance to take it out in cold temperatures after being in a warm house or vehicle?  And if so did it fog or stay clear?

What are these going for now? I have been thinking about one but the price has been a bit steep.
