What shotgun shells are you fellas using? The remington game loads No6 shot I've been using left a lot to be desired on my last trip.

I never have cared much for Remington factory ammo, especially shotgun.

Try Winchester 3" #6 shot loads, and you'll have as good a squirrel/rabbit load as the 410 can give you.

I reload Fed 2 1/2 with 9/16 oz of #6 over 12.8 Al 410 with a claybuster wad and and over shot wad. it stays together real well. I shoot it out of my single shot h&r my Stevens 24 410/22 and my Mossberg 500 haven't tried in my double yet.

Depends on which gun I'm using.  My Mossberg 500 .410 loves the 3" Winchester #6.  But my NEF .410 single shot seems to prefer the Winchester 2 1/2" high brass.  I agree the last time I tried the Remington field loads out of either of my .410 I was not happy with the results.

The particular gun makes a big difference.I had a winchester model 37 that my brother called my 410 ten gauge.I find that most 410 work best with a load of 7.5s in three inch.I don't reload 410s but i'll bet that 8s would be a deadly load in 3 inch.
