A .45 auto? That would be a Mk IV, Series 70.

Henry:  nice buy!  Excellent piece of equipment.  My only suggestion is to replace the 3 pronged barrel bushing with a solid round bushing and then have fun.  Hope this helps.  Mikey.

Henry:  The bushing is at the front of the barrel, make sure the gun is unloaded and when you look at the end of the barrel it will look like a ring around the barrel between barrel and slide. :D   JIM

Hello Henry.
Those series 70's are Very nice guns and you got a good deal if the gun is in good shape. I have had many 45's and now own a 70 series Gold Cup. Food for thought here....It is very popular to modify 45's. If your gun is in the original configuration you may want to keep it that way. If it shoots to your satisfaction then you have a collectors item in an unmodified original 70 series gun. I mean who would want to buy a modified Colt Single Action Army?
