New Browning BAR 3006
« on: October 19, 2007, 09:16:20 AM »
I bought a brand new BAR Longtrac Stalker this spring.  I took it out two days ago to sight in scope.  After about 1 box of shells, the bolt closed after the first round and the gun would not fire.  I could not physically pull the bolt back!  I took it to my gunsmith and he tapped  the bolt and got it open.  I was firing his reloads.  After some brainstorming we think it may be due to the reloads not being resized all the way down to the head of the bullet.  He is going to try to run some factory ammo through it.  Has anyone else had jamming problems with the BAR.  I thought I did my homework since I already own a Remington Jam-o-matic.  All indications were that BAR was a great gun.  Thanks for any input.

When reloading for any semi-auto, pump, lever action rifle you have to use  SMALL BASE DIES  to avoid problems.  Good luck.

Thank you NY.  You wouldn't happen to know the company that makes them?
